Francois KnopfArtist and wildlife painter François Knopf exposes his strange paintings: different kinds of animals, often of big size, moving in an unadapted world. Animals painted in a realistic way but atmospher lightly surreal or in all cases strange.
Francois was born in 1939 in Lausanne (Switzerland) where he did work as an accountant during numerous years. Actualy with his dutch wife they lived in a lonely house, on the edge of a wild forest, in Ollon (Switzerland). They have two children.
He started to paint around the age of 18 years old. Up to today he has done 29 personal exhibitions of his paintings. A striking event in his painter’s life: an amateur bought all the 41 paintings of one exhibition. And this just before the vernissage!
He paints mostly different kinds of animals of big sizes moving in a completely unusual environment. The juxtaposition of excessive worlds from which the unusual of the situation should induce the amazement.
