Olivie Ponce

Olivie was born in Mexico City in 1975. Already established as a prolific artist, he exhibits his abstract paintings and photography throughout Mexico and in the US and UK. In addition, Olivie holds regular workshops in contemporary abstract painting techniques. His work explores the immense effort required to keep up with modern life today and the confusion and tension which result from different visual readings of reality. He looks beyond the surface appearance of everyday life to express the hidden face of urban reality (estrangement, isolation, overcrowding) and reveals elements often imperceptible to and shrouded from the naked eye.
